Budget BS

I think that if the state can't pass a budget by the end of June which is the law several things should happen. 1st, No one involved should be allowed to get a paycheck the Governor, the Senators and the State Rpresentatives. Not only shouldn't they get paid after this date They shouldn't be allowed to be paid retroactively after they pass a budget. 2nd, The state should loss its ability to tax us until the new budget is passed. This would mean that the sales tax and other taxes would go away until a budget gets passed. When we pass a budget at the county level we pass a spending plan and a revenue plan. We must re-authorize what the milage for property taxes will be every year. 3rd, all state functions should be required to shut down. If these three things happened then maybe the people involved would get this done in the time frame it is supposed to be done by.

Perry Christopher's Blog

Someone on Perry's blog has accused me of having a love affair with posting anonymously. In case anyone didn't know, I had a blog going during the 39th senate race last fall called Bomp-Ward.com. It was dedicated to saying pretty much anything bad I could think of about Kim Ward. The day after the election it was taken down. I never tried to hide the fact that it was me writing what was posted. I even had a link from my website and this blog to it. So to say I love to post things and not use my name, by someone that refused to use their name when making the accusation, strikes me as funny. People that know me well know that I have never had a problem with telling people what I think to their face. In fact if you ask my staff and some of my friends, they wish I would do it less often. Sometimes in my line of work it is beneficial to tell people what they want to here. Sorry, I'm not built that way.
